‍‍As a U.S citizen and not knowing much myself about the veil I was astounded to find opinions on the veil from my own country are very
limited. We do not think much about it unless it is our own culture. We think more of stereotypes and our small amount of
knowledge that is given to us by schools. Those of us who have an opinion on it have researched it and probably only for school or professional reasons.
‍‍ Although, I have noticed that many U.S citizens had a tenancy to lean towards the "how could you put up with this?" type of opinion. Although we usually don't even know much about the veil. We as Americans feel very confused about what we call the lack of freedom that people in Iran an other countries have. We are used to thinking that because we have many rights that we are free and others who are not as free as us we should feel bad for. We do not take into account that it is a normal lifestyle.

In Iran, many feel protected or safe while wearing a veil.
"A tourist asks a young salesclerk in Kerman whether she resents being forced to cover up whenever she leaves the house. Not at all, she responds: "It makes me feel more relaxed." (ustoday.com)
